Suggest Treatment For Severe Back Pain

default
Posted on Mon, 10 Aug 2015
Question: Hi,
I have been suffering from long term back pain. Pain is mostly concentrated around my soldiers around neck and on the sides of my back . Its already been a year since it first started. I consulted an orthopedic and he asked me to examine my Vit D3 level in blood, which came out to be less than 3. After that he gave me Vit D3 capsules (have once in a week for 4 months). Also he asked me to do some back exercises to strengthen the muscles. Even after doing them the pain didn't subside. I then went for some physiotherapy treatments (IFT, ultrasound and also Diathermy). I still suffer from the back pain if I sit for long duration or do not rest for sometime after some hours.
Please tell me what should I do next to completely get relieved from this pain.

Brief Answer:
More evaluation is needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Ms XXXXXXX

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms and treatment received so far. Treatment given so far is correct. However, as the pain is still persisting, more detailed evaluation is needed to determine the cause of your symptoms. This would require MRI of cervical spine to look for any pinched nerve in the neck region.

Medications such as pregabalin capsules may be used for relief of pain.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
