Suggest Treatment For Redness On The Buttocks Of A Child

Question: Hi, my daughter 18 months old has passed 6 normal stools today. But between her buttocks have become red and she is crying in pain and also while passing urine.What do we do to relieve her from pain and decrease this rash. we are using candid cream and himalaya diaper rash cream given by doctor last time. can we anything else?

Looks like acidic stools have caused this

Detailed Answer:
Hi..I've seen the attached images.

Sometimes when kids have diarrhea the acidity in the stool can cause this skin flare up. I suggest that you use Siloderm ointment for external application. It will be soothing.

I suggest you use zinc supplements (Z&D drops 1ml once daily for 14 days) & ORS (Each small packet mixed in 200ml of potable water and keep giving sip by sip) as hydration is very important and crucial part of treatment.
