Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for choosing healthcaremagic for posting your query
I'm Dr. Sudhir Kumar,
I have gone through your question in detail and understand your concern. As your tennis elbow is not responding to cortisone shot. Then only option left is extensor release operation.Surgery for tennis elbow may involve cutting (releasing) the tendon, removing inflamed tissue from the tendon.repairing (reattaching) tendon tears if it is possible to do so without over tightening the tendon.
You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.
Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
Wishing you good health
Take care

This sounds like a fairly extensive surgery. How long is the recovery process and rate of success? Thank You

Brief Answer:
It is not a major and extensive surgery.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome back
It is not a major and extensive surgery. It is a relatively minor surgery. Its recovery time is nearly 1-2months. Your doctor will tell you when you can return to athletic activity. This is usually 4 to 6 months after surgery. Tennis elbow surgery is considered successful in 80% to 90% of patients.
Everything else already discussed.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
