Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist (DM).

Ans 1: a.Avoid milk and milk products b. avoid diet that cantains high calories. c. Rest all you are already doing

Ans 2: there are many cause apart from taking antibiotics and being helathy like previous intestinal surgery, aging, use of chemotherapy drugs, use of proton pump inhibitors and previous c. diff infection. So in you it may be due to previous infection or age

I hope I have answered your query and this will help you. If you have any further query I will be happy to answer that too. Remain in touch and get-well soon.

Prior infection understood, but I'm only 62, & look 50, surely age not the factor ? I weaned off baclofen 7 weeks ago, still on Gabapentin for spinal arthritis/myelopathy.
Otherwise excellent health.
Could I have picked up minute amount of C.diff at the fitness center ?? I truly have no etiology I can think of and I have always eaten Greek yogurt and love milk (organic all the way )
1-How to prevent this when I recover ?
2-from an epidemiological point of view, any thoughts on etiolgy ?
