Question: I have had a stomach bug bad over the last 48 hours. Now what I thought was just more diarrhea was nothing but blood! I was already seeing some blood when I was wiping before, now it is bright red when I wipe! I'm not on my period but that is how what was in the toilet looked. A big clot laying in the bottom, not floating, about the size of my thumb.
What could this be and how alarmed should I be?

Brief Answer:
Emergency

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

If you are passing XXXXXXX blood so many times and for sure not be a menstrual period this form an emergency. As you would quickly lose a lot of blood each time the blood pressure and pulse drops quickly. You should better see at an Emergency and do not waste time.
Even if you lose 50ml per poop, you would lose more than 300 ml per day on a bad day. That is sufficient to land in shock.
The clots are natural process when there is large amount of blood that is clotting. This is another sign to quickly check at the Emergency.
