Suggest Treatment For Persistent Rashes On The Neck After An Insect Bite

default
Posted on Tue, 29 Nov 2016
Question: My wife has an insect bite on her neck that isn't healing, her dr prescribed clotrimazole and betamethasone ointment which was supposed to help and has to some extent but it's been a week and a half and she's feeling tired . She is going to her dr tomorrow but I don't have any confidence in him. The site is on her neck towards the back and has a reddish border around a pussy center that isn't oozing, but does if pressed. Her dr said it wasn't a spider bite. This occurred after we were working in the yard so I'm sure that there was something. So if you can help us out, we would appreciate it.

Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
Going by persistence of symptoms and explanation of the current situation suggests that the bite has become infected. This would require a course of antibiotics and would become all right then. Get the wound properly cleaned and dressed.
In addition get her tested for diabetes because uncontrolled sugar levels don't allow healing of wound unless controlled properly.
There is nothing to worry as things would settle soon.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
