Brief Answer:
no, these medicines have no anti anxiety or antidepressant properties

Detailed Answer:
Hello

I have gone through your query and you want to know about the antidepressant or anti anxiety properties of the medicines you are taking for tooth problem.

I would like to tell you that these medications are not hving any proven antianxiety properties. The good reponse you are getting can be due to the proper psychiatric drugs only.

I would also like to inform you that psychiatry medications for treating anxiety take around 2-3 weeks to act and then the response accelerates further. So, it might be possible that your duartion of psychiatric drug usage became 2-3 weeks coinciding with the use of tooth drugs.
Or it is also possible that the drug dosage for treating anxiety was hiked recently and the response coincided with dental treatement.

I can help you better if you tell the dosage and duration of starting of the medicines for psychiatric problems.

I have tried to explain the two possible mechanisms which could have been responsible for the improvement of your anxiety symptoms.
The uncommon but rare possible reason can be (though not researched and not scientifically proven sufficiently!) can be sudden recovery from psychiatric illness after some infection. I have seen it one of my patients too.

I hope the reply helps.
Wish you good health!
Feel free to discuss any more concerns you have.

Brief Answer:
it was the infection & not the drug used that cured my patient I think!

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing back!

The patient I was talking about had some viral infection (common cold as far as I can remember) after which she became completely asymptomatic from her anxiety.
It was not that she became fine on taking pain killer...I suppose that the infection had some role into her recovery rather than the medication she used.

Had I been treating you I would have raised your daxid to 100mg and waited for two more weeks to see the improvement. Your present symptoms are suggestive of depression to a large extent and this would respond to hiking the dosage of the main antidepressant further.

There is hardly any role of the other drugs apart from daxid according to my clinical judgement. They are fine during the initial days of treatment and I think your doctor will also taper them after some time. The daxid dosage can be taken upto 200mg daily. It is a good drug for treating depression.

Take more water and salad in your diet to prevent constipation.
Please discuss the above points with your doctor.

I hope the reply helps ypu.

Please ask more questions for clarification.
