Brief Answer:
Appears to boil rather than blister;send more pics

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for the painful blisters between vagina and buttcheeks

After analyzing your query and picture with best diligence it appears to be a single boil in the picture rather than blister.

In view to diagnose the exact entity I humbly request you to kindly upload few good (or if possible high) resolution pictures of the affected area focusing the areas of concern. For the same you have a feature on the right side of the page.

Additionally tell me how many times you have got its recurrence in last two years. In blisters the basic finding is multiple fluid filled thin areas while in picture it appears to be red swollen single area.

For the interim of the relief in my patients I prefer to give an anti-inflammatory tablet such as paracetamol for two times daily after meals. For itching I prefer to use an antihistamine such as loratadine (Claritin) for two to three times daily. Do not try to touch or pinch the area.

Hope to hear soon from your side.

Brief Answer:
recurrent folliculitis: maintain hyginene

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome again and thanks for posting important pictures.

As I suspected the condition is recurrent folliculitis or boils in simple language.

Before I guide you regarding your condition let me guide you for some important points regarding your condition.

To tell you simply - This is a condition of inflammation and infection of the hair root and oil gland attached to it.

To explain it medically, we have hair all over our body which have opening of the oil glands attached to it. By many a factors these hair root and oil gland can become inflamed and infected leading to folliculitis.

The reason for the inflammation and infection of the area is due to the fact that our body harbor multiple types of bacteria on the skin which are known as “Normal flora” of the skin. A bacteria “Staphylococcus aureus” is also a part of that flora, but as soon as there is some break in the skin or trivially also due to bit ups and downs in immunity, the bacteria gets access into the skin and causes the aforesaid process of inflammation and infection. Genital area has high sweating and is always closed with friction at the site therefore is more prone for such kind of infections.

It can further be aggravated by heat and humidity with sweating over this area. It is generally painful to begin with or have a feeling of discomfort. It generally begins as reddish dot and then can enlarge later on to form a cyst kind of lesion if remained for longer time.

When it is superficial it heals without any problem, but when it is deep it causes lot of pain and swelling around the area. In general these persist for few weeks and heal without any problem. After a period of time our immunity prevents the further formation and inflammation. The main concern is when it is occurring frequently and regularly.

There are certain important tips regarding your problem:

1. Do not pinch, pop or even try to touch any of the area.

2. Kindly avoid scratching any area of normal skin also, as it leads to minor entry points for the entry of bacteria.

3. Maintain proper hygiene and take two times daily bath.

4. In my patients I suggest them to apply topical “Mupirocin” cream in a very thin layer two times a day or preferably night time.

5. A proper course of oral antibiotic is must in these cases to prevent future recurrence. You can talk to your treating doctor and apprise with my suggestion and therefore the best action can be taken.

I hope these information's will help you. If you have further queries I will be happy to help.

"Wish you good health"
