Posted on Sat, 12 Nov 2016
Question: I have ricketts, fibromyalgia and arthritis I have been on pain meds for the last 3 yrs but I recently switched pain meds docs from my primary doc. She and I disagreed on increasing the oxycotin which makes me extremely sleepy and I have 2 young children that need there mom. She decreased my hydrocodone and was going to stop it completely. I am now having trouble finding a doctor to even just put me on oxycodone as the hydrocodone was becoming less effective because I have built up a tolerance. I'm coming into winter months of Iowa and I don't want to sit in misery all winter. My kids need there mom to be a mom. Can you provide any help with this?

Brief Answer:
You need to start new medicines immediately

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

I understand the pain you may be going through due to rickets, fibromyalgia and arthritis.

Winter cold will surely aggravate the pain due to stiffness, inflammation of the joints.

I agree that oxycotin makes you sleepy and you should better avoid it. But if your body is getting resistant to hydrocodone, then there is no point increasing its dose due to its potential long term side effects.

Oxycodone has excellent results actually and takes good care of the pain and inflammation factor.

I suggest you to get a second opinion on this and change your doctor if possible.

If still you have trouble getting oxycodone prescribed from the new doctor, you can start on non steroidal anti inflammatory tablets. This will atleast prevent the pain and inflammation from flaring up during winter seasons.

Pain killer sustained release skin adherent patches are now available. You can paste these patches on the skin for controlled reduction of pain.

Keep you body warm, wear woolen clothes. Stockings and gloves should be worn to keep the joints of hands and feet warm. Avoid going out in cold weather.

Taking calcium and vitamin supplements will keep your joints and bones strong.

I hope the answer was useful .

For doubts or further help, you can get back to me anytime.
Kind regards

OK so my next question would be are there any online doctors that can prescribe these. I'm having a real hard time finding any in my surrounding areas that are willing to even listen to me. My primary refuses to see me for pain management until I can find a new pain management doctor due to the fact he referred me to a pain management doctor who like I said wanted to keep increasing the oxycotin after I told her several times I can't do that she refused to listen to anything I had to say. It was her way or no way!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

As far as i know, these drugs need a hand written prescription by a qualified doctor. It is not possible to get a online prescription as per my knowledge.

Thank you.
