Brief Answer:
MRI of the brain with gadolinium

Detailed Answer:
Good evening to you. My name is Dr. Saghafi and I am an adult neurologist and from the XXXXXXX Ohio area.

I've read your complaint of what can be classified medically as an "OLFACTORY HALLUCINATION." In other words, you have a sensation of an aroma that you smell which you know doesn't exist in your environment.

I highly recommend you seek out a neurologist who can do a thorough history and good neurological examination and if I were seeing you as my patient I would order an MRI of the brain with gadolinium contrast.

An EEG or electroencephalogram is also another diagnostic test which could be obtained although I believe that the MRI is the most important test to get if you end up having to choose between 1 or the other.

I hope this answer satisfactorily addresses your question. If so, may I ask your favor of a HIGH STAR RATING with written feedback?

Also, if there are no other questions or comments, I'd appreciate it greatly if you would CLOSE THE QUERY on your end so this question can be transacted and archived for further reference by colleagues as necessary.

Please direct more comments and questions to me in the future at:

All the best.
