Brief Answer:
Get B12 levels evaluated before starting injection

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The numbness that you have on standing is likely to be due to a nerve root compression or a vitamin B12 deficiency.
It is best to get your B12 levels evaluated and start the treatment accordingly. This can be due to nerve root compression at the level of lower lumbar spine. This can be relieved by taking oral muscle relaxants and by doing regular physiotherapy exercises to maintain the tone of paraspinal muscles.
The steroid injections only help to relieve the inflammation for a few weeks. These do not decrease the compression of the nerve roots. In case it is associated with a muscle weakness then do get yourself evaluated by a neurologist. Do not self medicate yourself.
I hope this answers your query.
