Suggest Treatment For Irregular Menstruation
Question: Hello I am 37 years. My period got delayed for 15 days for the first time and my pregnancy test was negative hence visited gynic. She has suggested me to take Goodova 50 on 2nd day of period and there after Folic Acid 123 and Ovares Plus capsules for 3 months . I am worried. Kindly suggest is it the right medicine for regularising period . since my husband stays far away we are not in the condition of family way immediately . My question is 1. Is there any side effect to take the medicine as prescribed even though if I am not going for pregnancy for next one year 2. Should I not to take medicine Kindly suggest

No I don't have. Married recently

It is good to know that your cycles are regular usually.
As the pregnancy test is negative you might need medicines for periods or withdrawal bleeding.
The cause for delayed period can be due to hormonal imbalance due to stress or any.
And if at all the irregular periods continue then the causes for them like thyroid abnormalities,PCOD,stress,overweight, obesity etc should be ruled out and treated accordingly.
Usually the infertility treatment is started if the pregnancy doesn't occur even after 1 year of regular unprotected intercourse.
As you are not planning for pregnancy and you both are not together at present the goodova might not be needed.
The ovulation induction drugs are associated with hyperstimulation of ovaries,hotflushes,alteration of ovarian function etc.
So they need to be restricted only for definite usage.
Usually ovulation induction drugs form a part of infertility treatment especially in PCOD where the problem is absence of ovulation.
As it is not the case in you Goodova might not serve the purpose in you so better avoided.
