Suggest Treatment For Intermittent Anxiety And Stress

default
Posted on Tue, 27 Jun 2017
Question: You answered a few questions of mine a few months ago and I wanted to follow up.

I have been dealing with anxiety and stress issues for quite some time. Many symptoms have come and gone and overall my life is much less restricted though I often get flashes of fear and anxiety when I make plans to do things.

However...what seems to be sticking and stubborn is a feeling of weirdness in my head that varies from mild to totally overwhelming. And I'm very very sensitive to stress of any kind. It creates eye tricks and definite sensitivity to lights, nausea, and a feeling of anxiety and that my brain is about to shut down. I kinda recognize the symptoms as stress and my brain being overwhelmed but this is way more chronic then it used to be...

Will this resolve as I continue to go about my life?? It definitely keeps me from feeling good but it's not making me depressed per se... just frustrated that these sensations are stuck.

Do you have any suggestions? Should I be worried that I could break my brain or start having convulsions or a stroke??

Do I keep moving as normal? Do I rest more? I'm just not sure how to address it!

Thanks.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Health care magic.

As in past I like to make it clear that chronic anxiety does not cause break of brain or convulsions. I understand that chronic stress have negative effects on your health but they are not of such magnitude.

Having stress management is key. I understand that you are taking care of it but it seems that there is need for more.

I am writing down few of the strategies that will help you in management of stress leading to reduction of your anxiety and stress level.

1. Diet: Ensure intake of adequate quantity of fiber. 2 servings of vegetable salad and 2 servings of fruits( One preferable citrus fruit). Avoid junk food and fast food.

2. Ensure adequate water intake: Follow rule of 1 which i usually advise. 1 glass of water 1 hour before and 1 glass of water 1 hour after every meals will ensure adequate consumption of water .

3. Early morning Exercise: Brisk walking for 30 minutes at a stretch preferably in garden will be very helpful.

4. Avoid tea/coffee/ nicotine and alcoholic beverages: If at all you want to drink something, drink fresh lime water. It is very much refreshing.

5. Start your day with a glass of Lemon water with 2 spoons of honey added.

6. Don't take work so seriously: We all have the feeling to excel in our respective fields and don't spend adequate time with our own self trying to understand our own needs.
Spend time with your family and friends.

7. While working take frequent regular breaks: Taking regular breaks will not waste the time, but it will definitely increase the productivity, concentration and reasoning. Take break for 5 minutes every 30 minutes.

8. Avoid late night socialization

9. Avoid starring for longer time at the computer screen or TV for longer time

10. Steam inhalation before going to sleep will be very refreshing.

11. Multivitamin and Calcium supplement.

12. Meditation and Yoga

Once you follow these principles of stress management you will see the difference in short time.
If you have any other query now or in future, feel free to write to me.
I will be there to assist you.

Sorry... that was the old question... i had a different one.

My question is that what i notice happening as i meditate more is that my body is having a rollercoaster of anxiety all day. My head feels full and its trembling anytime i try to rest.

It feels like someone left the engine on in a car and its rumbling and every so often the gas pedal is pressed and i get a burst of energy and heat up my neck and in my head, my throat toghtens and i get nsuseous. Its totally random. Any extra stress makes it worse but rest doesnt make it go away for long.

Will this too subside as i continue with my strategies? I judt get freaked out that im havinh and anyeurism or weird seizures from stress orsomething.

Brief Answer:
The possibility is good provided there is CBT

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

With new information I feel you reached a level which is difficult to revert back to normal with some intervention. In case it happens it will take lot of time and resulting in more loss of daily activities over a period of time.

The CBT is the only intervention which can help you to regain normalcy in no time (say 2-3 months). In my opinion without delay CBT should be started for complete cure.

I hope this answers you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.
