Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

Regarding your concern, you should know that uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to headache, which are the most common signs of this disorder.

Is she taking any therapy against high blood pressure?

What about Alzheimer's disease? What is her current medication?

I recommend you to closely monitor her blood pressure frequently during the day for a week and refer those values to her doctor.

Some other tests are necessary to exclude possible secondary causes of high blood pressure:
- resting ECG
- chest X-ray study
- blood lab tests (complete blood count, PCR, sedimentation rate, blood electrolytes, kidney and liver function tests, thyroid hormone levels).

You should discuss with her doctor the possibility of starting antihypertensive therapy or making changes to her actual therapy.

Hope to have been helpful!

Feel free to ask any other questions whenever you need!

Greetings!

Dr. Iliri
