Brief Answer:
The oesophagealgastric sphincter is lax

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

As you said she was eating late this contributes to bigger problem. She should complete the dinner by 7pm and have a glass of milk by 9.30PM before lying down. This closes the lax sphincter. She can eat a biscuit in the mid night.

Do not take coffee, fatty food during the day. It is better to take a walk in the late evening. She can take Digene or Gelusil as and when requried.

Brief Answer:
GELUSIL is an option

Detailed Answer:
Unfortunately at this juncture there are not many options except to chew on antacids, like GELUSIL syrup. She can also take two or three chewable Digene tablets at a time.
