Brief Answer:
You have much to understand ma'am

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Ma'am, there are many facts about your treatment and condition that you are unaware of and I would like to inform you about all of the facts you have not been informed about.

First of all, PCOD is a condition that can cause a hormonal imbalance and have the following symptoms:
-Hirsutism
-Irregular menstrual cycle
-Difficulty losing weight
-Acne or oily skin
-Dark brown or black patches on the neck, breasts, thighs, arms, etc.
-Pelvic pain
-Anxiety or depression
-Sleep difficulties
-Problems with fertility
and a few others.

As you can see ma'am, your darkened skin in the underarms and weight gain are both symptoms of the condition that you have. Now that all this is clear and I have explained that all your symptoms are clearly because of PCOD, you should know that our aim should now shift to the treatment.

Treatment of PCOD consists of two approaches:

1. This approach is for women who have this condition and are experiencing all or most of the symptoms, but are not trying to conceive. We prescribe medications to help regularise the menstrual cycles with the help of various medications, but the most popular one is metformin (which is the same as cetapin 500 or cetapin XR that has been prescribed for you).

2. The second approach is for women with this condition who are trying to or want to conceive. The first aim is to regularise the periods, because if the periods are irregular it will cause a problem with conception and even if conception does result it will soon cause a miscarriage. So the first step in women who have this condition and want to conceive is to help regularise your cycle, this will happen slowly and with the help of cetapin. The next step is to introduce medications containing clomiphene citrate to help increase fertility, but this can be introduced only once the menstrual cycles have been regularised.

So as you noticed, your underarms started getting more dark after discontinuing cetapin, this is because you need the medication to help regularise your cycle. Please do not discontinue this medication, and be patient as this medication will help to regularise your cycle first, and you should start trying to conceive only after your cycles are regular, and not now.

I hope I have explained things in a manner best understood by you, please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you ma'am.

Best wishes.

Brief Answer:
If your cycle is regular then start these

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.

Yes the weight gain could be due to discontinuation of cetapin, which helps in battling weight loss also.

If at all your menstrual cycle is regular then I would recommend you revisit your doctor and request for either or all of the following to be added to your treatment chart as these will help you in conceiving in no time:

-Clomiphene citrate
-hCG injections

Please speak to your doctor and initiate the same at the earliest. I would also recommend an elaborate evaluation of your husbands fertility status, if this has not already been conducted. I hope you can speak to your doctor and initiate these at the earliest. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help you.

Best wishes.
