Suggest Treatment For Dizziness And High BP After Cataract Surgery
preesure is way up. I have had high blood pressure in the past but now it is out of
control. It runs about 207/117 when high used to be 150/98. I am on my 3rd [erscription
of glasses since. It has been one year. The dizziness is ongoing and not controlled.
I am on BP meds but I need a much higher doseage now. could it be from the cataract
surgery. I had a neurological exam and MRI nothing wrong. I really think it is my btain trying to get used to mono vision after they were farsighted left eye, nearsighted Right
eye. I am now terrified every time I get excited . I take my BP often and it never goes
down where it used to be. I really am afraid og a stroke or heart Attack. Help me please.
Cataract or monovision is not responsible for dizziness.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.
I reviewed your history and the previous question you have asked to me on Health care Magic.
Monovision is normal after cataract surgery irrespective of far sightedness or near sightedness. We aim to make the eyes monovision and prescribe glasses for near vision after cataract surgery. The only exception for this is use of multifocal intraocular lens. In this case the eye will have vision for both distance and near.
Since you have changed glasses 3 times your cataract or cataract surgery or post operative status of monovision is not responsible your complaints of dizziness.
Dizziness in repeated episodes is symptom of your high blood pressure. This needs to be controlled by appropriate treatment. The treatment of blood pressure will prevent complications of high blood pressure like stroke....
Hence I advice you to consult your physician doctor for treatment of blood pressure.
Since MRI and neurological examination is normal, it indicates that no damage has occurred to brain and it is a good sign. Hence control of blood pressure now itself will have better prognosis.
Hope this is helpful to you.

Thank you
