Question: my mother is having problems with her gallbladder where shes at the point where shes throwing up and diarrhea.... how likely are they to do surgery this week? it isnt inflammed.

Not urgent if there is no inflammation

Hi and welcome to HCM.

Usually, if there is no cholecystitis, then there is no need for urgent surgery. Also, diarrhea is not usual symptom of gallbladder attack so it would be better to wait till diarrhea and pain subside and then elective cholecystectomy can be performed laparoscopically. Till then she should have analgesic and antispasmodic medications and follow easier diet.
