Question: I have been disgnosed with depression due to my job and relationship issues. I have a pre existing hair loss condition (androgenetic alopecia). Are there any antidepressants that DO NOT cause hair loss to someone with already sensitive hair? I also take spirinolactone and finasteride for it. I am a 26 year old female.

Thank you for the reply. This is the pattern hairloss since 2012. I was disgnosed with ovarian failure and PCOS so I am trying to find which antidepressant will NOT disrupt my hair loss more. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
metformin

Detailed Answer:
Hello
PCOS is the main reason for hairfall.
I usually prescribe tablet metformin to such patients and have seen good response with that.
You can discuss regarding this with your treating doctor.
Apart from this you can also apply minoxidil lotion and take tablet follihair.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
