Posted on Mon, 19 Sep 2016
Question: My wife has been experiencing unusual and perplexing behavior. There have been 3 incidents/episodes. She goes from being perfectly normal and within a few minutes out of nowhere see becomes very dizzy, has trouble walking, slurred speech, drowsy, can not keep eyes open, and this past time became violent. There are no drugs, medication, or alcohol consumption that I am aware of. 10-15 minutes later she was back to normal. After I tell her what happened she denies it as if she honesty can't remember.

Please help! What could be causing this. She suffered from depression years ago and has been off medication for about 5 years. I believe she was on Wellbutrin.

Brief Answer:
There is need to investigate

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Health care magic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

From the available description there are following possibilities

1. Dissociative episodes as she earlier suffered with depression.

2. Seizure episodes- most likely as the symptoms cleraly favor the complex partial seixures

3. Cerebrovascular accidents- remote possibility.

I think you need to see a doctor without delay as it is not something to ignore. He may order Mri and EEG along with other biochemical tests to reach final diagnosis.

I hope this helps you.
If you have more questions feel free to contact me.
Thanks and regards.

In your opinion it is more likely a physical concern and not a mental health concern?

Also, how long is too long before any test could verify what happened. The last episode was Sunday afternoon around 3pm.

This last incident occurred Sunday afternoon around 3pm. If I got her to a Dr. this week could tests identify if it was a seizure , etc.
