Depression came on slowly over the past 2 or 3 months. I was not under any stress. I am taking Lipitor atorvastatin 20 mg for cholestrol, Amlodipine 10mg and Lisinopril 20mg for high blood pressure.

Brief Answer:
dizziness and depression are not related in your case

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for answer.

Your dizziness may be due to blood pressure changes likely. Depression developed gradually over 2-3 months. This is likely due to age related changes in brain and imbalance in neurotransmitters.
There is no direct link between depression and dizziness in your case.
Citalopram is somewhat effective drug in treating depression. If I were your treating doctor I would recommend sertraline (Zoloft). By chance there is not significant improvement in your depression after 4-6 weeks of citalopram, you can discuss with your doctor about changing the medicines.

Feel free to discuss further.

Take care.
