Brief Answer:
periods deregularize after prolonged oc pill usage

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for contacting health care magic.

As is evident from the history that you were on Femilon for last 3 years and have left it just 3 months back, then having poly menorrhoea for last 3 months and now you are over due by 9 days in october.

Well you have to understand that , it sometimes happen in women who are long on oral contraceptives to take time to return to regular periods . It may sometimes take as much as 6 months. So dont be anxious. Stress per se is another factor which can delay or shorten your cycle. Also , the anxiety to conceive can play a role in hormonal balance.

i suggest you to continue on barrier cntraception if you are not contemplating/planning pregnancy and maintain a menstrual calendar for atleast 6 months. the menses usually reguularize by 6 months without any medications.

If your menses in October dont return by another week , then you may do another Urine preg test and if negative , can opt for withdrawal bleeding with progesterones.

Also if the periods not regularize in next 2 months , then you may have to undergo a hormonal profile---thyrod profile, prolactin, serum testosterone, FSH and LH. Weight is also an important factor in deregularizing the cycles, like in cases of PCOS.
I would like you to tell me your weight and height for the BMI, and if at all any ultrasound pelvis has been done recently to rule out polycystic kidneys. In case your periods dont regularize, then go for an ultrasound pelvis to rule out PCOS or any other organic cause .

Brief Answer:
wait for your menses for another week....

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the follow up.

Your BMI is 28.4 kg/m2 which is fine. also if your previous ulrasound didnt show pcod, then it is unlikely that oc pills would make you one.

I suggest , just maintain menstrual calendar for another 2 months and wait for it to regularize. This may just be the side effect of prolong usage of femilon and would regularize on its own.

Avoid stress and anxiety. if your periodds dont resume in another week , ie, 15 days from your missed period date, then ideal would be to get another ultrasound to look for endometrial thickness and then opt for withdrawal bleeding with progesterone. In the meantime practice barrier contraception and once the periods resume , then you may use ISURE ovulation kits to time your ovulation and accordingly plan pregnancy in next cycle.

Brief Answer:
homeopathic med could be the cause of delay menses

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
thanks for the follow up.

You should have told me that earlier when asked about any drug history. These are homeopathic drops and have no scientific logic proven as far their mechanism of action is concerned.so its difficult to comment.

but its likely that it may have an effect over the hormonal balance. Its good that you have left it. Please dont use it again till your menses regularize completely , there are better ways of reducing weight.

anyhow, just wait for your menses to resume.if you cross beyond 15 days of missed period, get an ultrasound pelvis done for endometrial thickness and then go for withdrawal bleeding with progesterone.maintain menstrual calendar for next 3 months.
