Question: I had developed severe fungal infection and d itchy rashes for which the derma prescribed sporanox 100mg & vozet 5mg for a week.now since the itching sensation and fungal infection has completely dissapeared. How long will it take for the dark bruise marks to fade away completely or is there any ointment to help fade the dark bruise marks ?

Thanks & Regards

Brief Answer:
Oral and topical antifungals

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXX,
The darkening that you have developed is called post inflammatory hyperpigmentation due to the fungal infection.
The key to successful treatment of pigmentation is complete eradication of fungal infection.
Therefore I would insist you to extend your course of Sporanox capsule for one more week and apply antifungal cream Lulifin once at night for atleast 3 more weeks.
In day time apply antifungal powder containing Sertaconazole ( Onabet dusting powder)
I am sure once your infection is completely resolved the pigmentation will go away on its own.
Maintain hygiene and avoid tight undergarments.
Thanks
