Suggest Treatment For Constipation

Question: my son who I 24 has been constipated for about 4 days now, he started with stool softners and prune juice, no relief, today did an suppository and took miralax, not much relief. Some light bleeding when he wipes. Any suggestions ?

I appreciate your concern

I would suggest magnesium oxide and hydroxides plus paraffin combination available by the name of cremaffin. It can be available by a different trade in your region. You may ask your local pharmacy store about it. Ispaghula husk with cremaffin should be soaked in 100 ml of water and taken together. Adequate fluid intake should be ensured. Pro kinetics like domeperidone can also be given. Dulcolax suppositories can be repeated if the constipation persists. Stool for ova and parasite, DRE ( digital rectal exam) and x ray erect abdomen can be advised to look for possible causes of the lower GI bleed and constipation. Most likely the light bleeding was related to the hard stool.
