Suggest Treatment For Chronic Chest Pain, Gastritis And Hiatal Hernia

default
Posted on Sat, 13 Dec 2014
Question: After seven months of chronic chest pain I had an endoscopy which showed I had gastritis and a small sliding hiatal hernia

The trouble is since I've been diagnosed with these the pain has spread into my shoulders upper back down both my arms (left mainly though) and around my ribs at the back to the point it is hurting me to breath or even move
It is so painful it exhausts me just being in the pain

Do these conditions cause such symptoms ? How do I get relief from this pain and squeezing feeling in my chest and arms? Omperazole has not helped, neither does zantac, gaviscon

Cardiac rules out Ct Angiogram scan included

Brief Answer:
Other causes need to be excluded...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and can say that your symptoms are not suggestive for stomach problems.

I advise to run further examinations to exclude problems related to pancreas and cholecystitis (gallbladder inflammation) issues:

- abdominal ultrasound
- liver/pancreas/kidney function tests

MRI of spinal cord is advised as vertebral issues can be possible causes.

Moreover I recommend to continue with Omeprazole and to add antacids and antispastic to your therapy in order to releive your pain. This till you perform all the mentioned examinations.

All the best!
