Suggest Treatment For Chronic Back Pain
Question: I have had chronic mid to lower back pain for approximately 4 weeks. I've never experienced this before. Also, when I first get up in the morning and start walking, I can feel small chards of something moving around on my ankle bone. I have had planters faciatitis in both feet for approx 1.5 years now...could it be related?
Brief Answer:
Back pain can be due to weak muscles.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. Back pain is usually due to weak back muscles and weak bones. Planter fasciitis is not related to this. Cracking sounds in ankle joints if not associated with pain, then you do not need to be worried about. I want to know little detail of the illness.
1.Do you have pain in leg also or only in back?
2.Do you have Diabetes or thyroid or any other medical illness?
3.Are you taking any medication since long time?
Please send me answers of these questions. I will try my best to help you.
Thanks

1. Just in my back. It is often times painful to sit. And is also painful to straighten my back when walking.
2. Diagnosed as pre diabetic approx 1.5 yrs ago.
2a. Anxiety, depression, menopause.
3. Climara patch 0.05 mg. for 3 years and lexapro 10 mg. daily for 7 months.
Thank you
As far as my ankle there is no cracking, just a weakness and substantial movement in my ankle when I walk and this only occurs first thing in the morning.
Thank you,

Brief Answer:
You need to take muscle relaxant and physiotherapy
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think you are having back pain due to muscle weakness. As it is since 4 weeks so I have following suggestions.
1.Get X ray of the spine to rule out any bony problem.
2.Back muscle strengthening exercises for 3 months.
3.Tablet Myoril or Myospaz daily for three weeks. These are muscle relaxants and they are helpful in relaxing your muscles.
4.Hot water fomentation and any local pain killer gel like volitran can be applied.
5. Avoid forward bending, weight lifting and sudden jerk to your back.
At present for ankle just observation is sufficient.
I hope these steps will be helpful for you.Let me know if their is any other followup questions.
Thanks
