Question: Theres a red lump on the inside of my infants sons (2 month old) buttocks. He's been crying for about 3 hours. My wife and I just notice the lump today.

HI Dear,
It is probably small boil in the inner side of the buttocks. Often happens.
Can be treated with:
Magsulf dressing (MAG MAG) two times daily.
Analgesic drops like Calpol drops (10 to 20 drops 4-6 hourly after feeds).
Antibiotic like Augmentin syrup 2.5 ml two times a day along with Probiotic like Syrup Neutrolin B 2.5 ml twice a day will reduce the inflammation. You can get this medication with doctor prescription.
