Suggest Treatment For Black Discolored Patches On The Body

Question: I have these black patches on my body and I have no idea what they are. They are similar to birthmarks. I had raw skin from allergy once and I scratched a lot.

Hi,

Welcome to HCM...

I can understand your concern for melanotic patches on various parts of the body. I read a short history and saw the photos you uploaded. You said you had itching before development of pigmented patches,may be due to allergy. I think after relief of allergy you might have developed patches at the itchy areas. So, it may be considered as post inflammatory hypermelanosis. I assure you that the patches are benign and might vanish gradually. I think..you need not to take any treatment at present. However you consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis.

If you have itching again on the patches, you may take antihistaminics and apply mild steroid cream on the patches. Otherwise for pigmentation no treatment is needed. Please be free of worries..
