Suggest Treatment For Acute Enteritis

Question: Hi My daughter is 5 months completed and 6th month running she has severe colic pain few times a day and night Stool is greenish and Motion test report showed Mucus, Pus cells present currently using Ofloxacin & Metronidazole Suspension ( antibatic ) , Saccharomyces boulardii ( XXXXXXX ) and Colicaid for the last 2 days till now the pain has NOT come down nor the colour of the stool she takes mother milk, Formula milk ( Lactogen 1), smashed banana, cerelac ( wheat XXXXXXX flavor ) can some one tell me what is the correct treatment for this please ? and how many days it will take for the infection to come down and recover from pain?

Brief Answer: relax. Detailed Answer: Hi. Thanks for your query. Acute enteritis is mostly viral in nature but could be bacterial as well. Antibiotics usually take 48 to 72 hours to act and in case symptoms persist re evaluation is needed. I suggest you to continue with medication as advised by your doctor. Give oral rehydration solution after each loose stool. Give lemonade,coconut water,boiled pulses water. Give cerelac after she completes 6 months as complementary feeding is started after 6months of age. Watch for her hydration status. In case there is lethargy/refusal of feed/decreased urine output get her evaluated to acesses hydration status. Hope I have answered your query. Let me lnow if I can help further.
