Suggest Treatment For GERD And H. Pylori Infection

Question: Hi Doctor,

I got recently tested with Hpylori along with GERD Positive. I would like to know whether it can e cured presently i am taking Amoxicillin 500mg, clarythromycin, Lazonprazole. does it effect on teeth and gums

Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
H. Pylori can produce inflammation and ulceration in the stomach and duodenum.
GERD is due to incompetence of the gastroesophageal valve mechanism leading to reflux of the gastric acid into the esophagus. The reflux in some instances is so severe that it may produce throat inflammation, ulceration, tooth damage etc.
The treatment prescribed is the triple regimen which is effective in eradication of the bacteria in most cases.
