Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,

Its good news already that the exact medical conditions from which he has symptoms due to have been identified. This is so as specific measures could be taking to avoid substances, activities and circumstances that could exacerbate the symptoms.

I am afraid to talk of a complete cure that actually exists. None really does. However, healthy habits and measures could be implemented to improve immensely his quality of life.

Vaccination against Streptococcus pneumoniae and hemophilus influenzae, common infections in these conditions are recommended. Prompt evaluation and treatment of cough and fever symptoms is advised. Prohpylactic antibiotherapy could be an option. This would depend on the clinical evaluation of his family doctor.

Avoid severe of very energy demanding exercise would be of much good. It is imperative for him to respect doctor' s recommendations and have a good and constant relation, to a good and available family Dr.

Kind regards,

Dr Bain
