What Is The Remedy For Severe Congestion With Lethargy?

Severe chest congestion w/ croupy cough upon waking that recedes w/in 1 hour. General lethargy, i.e. falling asleep @ work, watching tv, grading papers, etc. Otherwise near normal functioning, including aerobic exercise (cycling @ +/= 15mph). Hx of cervical & thoracic spine fx, & common variable immunodeficiency (CVID). Absent IgA, low IgG prior to dx last spring, including neg. response 2 multivalent polysaccharide pneumococcal vaccine. However; no hx of respiratory or digestive illnesses. On IVIG therapy w/o problem & appropriate restoration of normal IgG levels. No fever, symptom duration ~10 days.

The cough that you have only in the morning can be related to allergy or a sudden change in the temperature of the environment. Taking steam inhalation in the morning will help.
