Suggest Remedy For Shooting Pain On Side Of Jaw And Ear

Question: Am having shooting pains that started at the left side of jaw and ear. Felt as if I had something wrong with the ear and the glands under the jaw. I thought at first I might have an infection, since it also hurt when I touched the area and it was pretty intense. I had a z pac and took the first days dose. After some time passed it did not get any better and it started in the scalp also on the left side, up to the upper top of my head. Do not have a fever but feel awful. Could it be something involving the nerves? I have had pain on my left hand and wonder could they be related?

Brief Answer:
rule out dental problem

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

This type of pain is often due to dental problems. This is actually due to nerve irritation by dental problem which is then referred to some other area supplied by same nerve.

Other possibility is primarily nerve disorder like trigeminal neuralgia. Here the nerve supplying the face gets active without cause. Usually this is not related to pain in the hand.

So get yourself examined by a doc, then appropriate investigations and treatment can be initiated. Effective remedies are available.

Hope this helps.
