Suggest Remedy For Severe Pain In Stomach And Burning Sensation On Skin

default
Posted on Mon, 22 Dec 2014
Question: Hi,
My name is XXXX, and my wife is XXXX.
Question is regarding her problem in stomach. She has sometimes severe pain in stomach, and most of the time all parts of her skin (particularly left portion) is burning all the time. She says that she is getting additional weight (fat) on her body day by day, which is visible to me as well.
Consulting a physician says she has gastric issues and a gynecologist says both gastric + hormonal imbalance is the issue. Medication is going on, with anti acids like PAN D and she also had anti-biotics in the past, but nothing seems to be working.

Kindly suggest.

Regards
doctor

Hello Doctor,

Thank you for consultation.

Following are the answers :
1) 1 year marital life.
2) Cycles are regular, only last 2 cycles were bit late (around 4-5 days late)
3) Ultrasound report OK
4) Thyroid test OK ; TSH level - 2.181
5) Yes, there is lot of stress due to pain and burning in the body, also there is fat being accumulated on the outer parts of body which irritates her so much.
Another reason for stress is our sex life. During initial days of marriage, we were not able to consummate, even now we have a doubt whether we have done it or not. This is because of low desire and less energy in me, and therefore there is less penetration. But even after complete penetration now, she feels that she is not satisfied. Meanwhile I have undergone several tests like SEMEN analysis, TSH, CBC, PENILE DOPPLER, LFT, KFT, Testerostone, and the results have been NORMAL.
6) Normally, the diet is regular, with 3 meals a day + fruits and snacks etc.
7) No we are avoiding spicy food for a long time, only once in a while (maybe in 15-20 days) we eat outside.
8) Antibiotics were given for stomach infection.

Kindly write back for any other question.

Brief Answer:
stress might be the cause

Detailed Answer:
Dear sir, I got your information. It is good to know that all the tests and hormonal estimations are normal.

Stress might be cause of gastric issues and weight gain.

Stress increases the levels of hormones like cortisol in the body. This cortisol hormone causes weight gain, gastric ulcers, depression etc.

Weight gain is also seen in hypothyroidism, ovarian causes like polycystic ovarian disease.

As the thyroid profile and ultrasound are normal and cycles are regular both the above said conditions might be ruled out.

If cycle length prolongs more than 35 days then that is significant.

Stomach infection for which you had the treatment might be H.pylori infection. H.pylori causes ulcers resulting in gastritis.

An upper gastrointestinal endoscopy might help you to see for any ulcer. So discuss with your doctor regarding that.

By reading all your information it appears that stress might be the cause of all problems.

Diet must be:-
1)Avoid spicy and tamarind in diet.
2)Avoid junk food.
3)Take low calorie food like fruits and veggies.
Continue your regular diet pattern.

Discuss with her about the thing which is worrying her and try to make her free.

Practising Yoga, exercise and meditation daily would be of great help.

Hope this satisfies your query.

Good luck....Dr.srilatha

Thank you doctor for your consultation and opinion, we think the same as all stress symptoms are matching like weight gain, gastric and a little depression.

I just wanted to ask whether we need to have any hormonal test done, or is there any test for cortisol hormone that we need to get done.

Brief Answer:
Lifestyle should be modified.

Detailed Answer:
Dear sir, I understand your concern.

In my opinion, the response to stress hormones by body are natural phenomena seen in most of the people.

But if stress is persistent for long time, we see these untoward effects like weight gain, gastritis, depression etc.

Serum cortisol hormone estimation is not needed in your case. It is done in those who have more cortisol hormone synthesis resulting in increased cortisol hormone level in the body due to any abnormality.

So here we have to act against the stress but not hormones.

Mostly as you said, she might be stressed regarding sexual life. So, giving importance to foreplay if any might help.

Better contact a sex therapist for any solution.

Follow yoga, meditation and exercise which will be very helpful. Modification of lifestyle is important.

Follow good diet habits.

So relax and support her mentally.

Good luck....Dr.srilatha
