Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concerns.

Since when you are having this problem?

You have mentioned that you take daxid and Clonazepam. Are these drugs working for you?

Have you tried any non pharmacological measures for it?

Do you use alcohol or any other drugs of abuse?

Kindly provide these details so that I can guide you better.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks.

I have been suffering since the year 2000 when I had my second delivery.prior to that I was very normal and active, healthy person.initially I used Trioka on prescription&treatment dr XXXXXXX sekhar XXXXXXX later I stopped the medication after 3 months .The palpitations have occured a few times.after 2003 I observed the abnormal beating rate of heart and consulted dr.G V Ramanarao after consulting cardiologist at bhimavaram where I present and he prescribed me daxid and clonaz.thesse medicines were not so effective and I use them only for a week due to the side effects like rigidity of jaws, drrowsiness, fatigue etc.I am a working woman,a school teacher.I used these the medicines only when the palpitations viz sudden increse in heaart beat, panic, cooling down of body, shivering of righthand.I have not followed any other procedure/course.I am not alcoholic nor drug user. Now the frequency has increased to 3to 4 times a month compared to 2years back where I suffered 4to 6 times a year. The doctors attributed it to hormonal imbalance.at present my BP also fluctuat ing due to frequent palpitations.I am not comfortable with medicines and I fear the side effects and have doubts about their usage&efficacy. How long I have to use these.Kindly elaborate my case, clarify and suggest remedies.

Brief Answer:
Relaxation exercises, drugs as needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
Thanks for the details.
I have understood your case.

I think you are having panic attacks. The Anxiety shoots up suddenly and you have tremors, palpitations, cold body etc.

Now the frequency of these attacks has increased to 3-4 times in a month.
You are a school teacher. This might be affecting your work too.

Regarding the drug treatment, In my opinion, the frequency of panic attacks is not that severe to start a regular drug treatment.
The best drugs for this problem are drugs like sertraline, paroxetine etc. But these do have side effects. These medications are effective but have to be taken for long term.

If I would have been your treating doctor, I would suggest you to take propranolol-clonazepam combination only when you start feeling anxious (not on regular basis).
This will control your anxiety.

Other than this, practice relaxation exercises like deep breathing and meditation regularly. This should help you to stay calm.

Avoid excessive tea, coffee and chocolates as these can increase Anxiety.

Keep in touch with a psychiatrist as these drugs are prescription drugs.

Hope you find my suggestions helpful.

Feel free to ask further.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
100/60 BP donot need drug treatment.

Detailed Answer:
100/60 BP is normal. There is no need of any medications for it. Just drink some lime water or tea when your BP is low.

I think it would not be hormonal balance. Rather it would be neurotransmitter imbalance in brain which causes Anxiety attacks. The drugs usually normalize it.
But at present, I donot feel that you need regular medications.

The drugs are prescribed on the basis of severity of clinical symptoms. In my opinion, your symptom severity is not that high that you need drugs.

Hope this answers your query.
Take care.
Thanks.
