Brief Answer:
Allergy to paints or its fumes

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

This dry throat with numbness in mouth and tongue could be due to some throat irritation as a result to allergy to paints or its fumes.

However, this type of feeling could also be temporary and may get subsided by itself without any treatment but you can take over the counter antihistamines like levocetrizine 5 mg twice daily with motrin 400 mg to prevent further throat inflammation or irritation.

Take anti-emetics like domperidone 10mg or ondasetron 8 mg if you feel nausea or vomiting.

Chlorhexidine oral mouth wash would also be helpful.Do gargles frequently in a day.

If symptoms do not subside, then i would advice you to see ENT specialist who will examine your mouth cavity with some relevant investigations like pharyngoscopy to detect the underlying cause.

He may prescribe you short course of oral antibiotics like amoxicillin which will also be helpful.

In the future, apply face mask to prevent the paint fumes from entering into the mouth cavity and throat or respiratory tract.
