Question: I have constant itchy scalp - no dandruff - just itch - sometimes flushed. helps a little, temporarily -- Help!!

Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

You have been having scalp itching for a long time and despite your best efforts the itch continues. Have you tried ketoconazole shampoo to help the itch. This is a treatment for psoriasis and seborrhea that helps. It is also known as Nizoral shampoo. If this does not help you may need to start a low potency steroid lotion on the scalp. The usual steroid would be hytone in lotion form. You need to use a lotion because the creams and ointments will mess up your hair.
