Question: I was having badly etching problem months ago and was getting yellow liquid type wax in both the ears, then I used ear drop “OTINA” for 2 days 2 times. Got relief for couple of week. After that again the etching problem started but was not getting so much yellow liquid wax like before.
I used ear bird. Later I feel little pain, as if something is flowing inside. Then I consulted Doctor
Date: 4th May 2015
Dr said: bcz of ear bird, it hurt and you got white fluid in the ear. Nothing else.
Prescribed: ear drop and a tablet for 1 week
No pain, no more fluid issues, but the etching was still there.
Date: 20th Oct 2015
Got cold badly, little pain and badly etching in ear again, especially in left ear. Visited second Doctor
Dr said: inner walls of left ear is red bcz of cold. Everything is fine, once the cold is over, ear problem will also resolve
Prescribed: OLTIVIN and some tablet for 10 days
Cold got over but ear etching was still there…sometimes it was uncontrollable then I used ear bird once in a week. And visited 3rd Dr.
Date: 22nd Feb 2016
Dr said: your nasal tube is bending towards left i.e. why air is not able to pass properly, bcz of it you got infection and the ear bird increased the infection. So, it is causing etching in the left ear.
Prescribed: NASIVION (oxmetazoline hydrochloride nasal solution) for 3 days, 3 times and some tablet for 1 week
Totally stopped using ear bird, but still had too much etching and later I felt some transparent odor liquid coming inside. With the time now I am not feeling that liquid discharge but still if I put my finger inside, I find odor smell. I am not getting weather it is recovering itself by time or I should again consult doctor bcz the etching had reduced but still I feeling etching much and odor.

Brief Answer:
These are common problems.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. Ear bud related ear injury and ear infections due to a cold are common problems. These usually settle down with routine treatment.

2. The itching in the ear may be a referred sensation from some other part of the body as the sensation in the ear is supplied by many nerves that also innervate many regions of the head, face, teeth, throat, sinuses, tongue, neck, heart and stomach.

3. Common causes for this itching include acidity (gastritis/ reflux), sore throat, cold due to a deviated septum, allergy, minor trauma from the habit of using ear buds and so on.

4. Healing of the ear injury also causes itching (normally seen with healing skin). Anti allergic medication can help reduce itching. Steam inhalation will help.

5. Start anti reflux medication and continue anti allergic medication for some time. Get ear swabs sent for culture & sensitivity and use ear drops to clear out any residual infection. Avoid the habit of using ear buds. Always hold the ear bud one centimeter from the tip and then use gently only in the outer ear canal.

6. Let me know the progress.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

Yes I got the answer. But as you said to get some relief from this itching, I should use ear drop and Anti allergic medication. So can you please recommend name of any medicine or I should only try with Steam inhalation.
