Brief Answer:
Nothing abnormal as of now..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complaint, you got your tooth extracted on Saturday and today it is Tuesday..
It means today it is third day after extraction..
Pain during the first 4 to 5 days after extraction is not an abnormal finding..
Gradually as your extraction socket will heal, the pain will subside..

I would like to know a few more questions so that I can guide you further..
1.What was the reason for getting the tooth removed?
2.Can you explain the exact location of the tooth in your mouth that is extracted?
3.Did the pain reduce even a little bit from the day of extraction till today or it is same?
4.Is the pain moderate or severe?
5.If you see the extraction socket in a mirror, can you see the extraction hole filled will healing tissue or the hole is empty?

Kindly revert back soon with answers..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.

Brief Answer:
Seems to be post operative pain, continue medication..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome Again..

Thanks for the reply..

As per your response it seems that as there is something white present in the extraction socket it seems to be scar tissue or healing tissue..
As the tooth was infected and was wisdom tooth the healing can take a longer time, therefore pain is not abnormal and can stay upto a week..
Do not panic, continue taking the medicines given to you that is Augmentin antibiotic and Combiflam painkiller..
You should also do warm saline gargles and take a soft diet..
Do cool compresses over the cheek..

In case if the pain does not start reducing gradually in next 2 to 3 days you should get back to your treating dentist and get evaluated and also get an x ray done..
You can send me a scan of the x ray so that I can evaluated whether there is any abnormality like any left over piece of root or infection in the socket..

At times if the blood clot or healing tissue that is responsible for healing of the socket gets dislodged from the socket, it can develop a condition known as Dry socket and it needs treatment for relieving pain and initiating healing..

As of now it does not seems to be a cause and you need not to worry..
Revert me back after 2 days with an x ray if pain does not go away..

Any further questions are welcome..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
