Question: Hi I had my spleen removed in hospital from car accident , so I'm wandering if there anything I could do to help with infections & stuff ? Pls

I am so sorry to hear about this spleen removal. I suggest that you go ahead and take vaccinations against germs that are most problematic in persons without a spleen. They are HIB, Typhim and pneumococcal. This way, you would be protected against these germs which are responsible for most havoc in persons whose spleens have been removed. In additional, stay away from sick persons and keep personal hygiene at its highest.
