Question: I have lyme disease which has affected my entire nervous system. I have numbness in my entire body and i have motor and extremes sensory loss. My heart rate is 90-100 beats per minute. i am out of breath and i have high blood pressure as well. I have tried multiply medications to lower my blood pressure and It has caused my sensory loss to increase and it does not reverse itself. I am permanantly more numb. Is there something I can take for my heart and not affect my nervous system. I just recently tried atenolol and it made me worse.

Dear XXXXXX,

Greetings from health care magic!!! I am Dr Thakker and shall be answering your question.

I can understand your concerns about Lyme's disease and its effects on your health. I will try my best to help you out.

With regards to your heart, I would say a rate of 90 to 100 is good because Lyme's usually causes a heart block and a slow heart rate.

For your hypertension I would recommend you to take an ACE inhibitor. This does not act via the nervous system and will not worsen your neuropathy.

I would also recommend you to have a low salt diet.

Pranayama Yoga is very effective way of mind and BP control. you could go in for the Yoga training.

I hope this helps you out. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to write back to me.

Yours sincerely,
Dr Thakker.

that is my lying down heart rate when i stand up it goes over 100. I can not do yoga because when i sit up or stand up my bp is sky high and I have to lie down again. I am bedridden and lie in bed and take ativan meanwhile to control it when it gets too high. What medication names could you recommend to me? My heart right now is beating so hard and I have difficulty breathing as well because of this. But when i take Aivan it does help. I hope to find a medication to help. I do not eat salt at all and only eat natural organic home made foods. No processed stuff at all.
i even tried raw garlic and it affected my nervous system and brain really bad. Today i'm trying lemon in water. It does not lower my bp but I will see if if works for me. Have you heard of lemon in water to lower bp?

Dear XXXXX,

Raw garlic helps to reduce cholesterol but has no effect on blood pressure.

Lemon in water has no effect on the blood pressure. it contains citric acid and helps to aid a little miniscule of weight loss but nothing more than that.

You should stick to my recommendation of ACE inhibitor drug for your hypertension.

I hope this helps you out. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to write back to me.

Yours sincerely,
Dr Thakker.
