Brief Answer:
Centrifugation is most common

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

There are many techniques to separate healthy sperms from the sample. These separated healthy sperms can then be injected directly into the uterus increasing the chances of pregnancy.

Below are most employed techniques.

1. Sperm washing : this is employed when there are suspected autoimmune antibodies which are killing the healthy sperms. Washing the sperms with sterile medium added with human albumin.

2. Swim up method : In here, motile healthy sperms are separated based on their motility and ability to swim up. The semen is liquidated to allow such motility.

3. Density gradient centrifugation : A centrifuge machine is used which spins the samples at high rotation rate. This process separates the normal ones with the dead or deformed ones.

Hope, I answered your query.

Wish you good health.
