Brief Answer:
Liquid based cytology. It is better than Pap smear

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for writing to healthcare magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.

Were you regular with your Pap tests before? Were they normal in the last 20 years? If so then there is no need for you to do pap test at age 65. The natural progression of the disease is such that it is highly unlikely that women aged 65 and above will go on to develop the disease.

I could not exactly figure out what is the problem in getting a pap smear done.
If you were not regular with cervical screening then you should do it now.
Call your GP/Family physician and take appointment for cervical screening using liquid based cytology (LBC). This method is better than taking cervical sample on slide (Pap smear). In LBC the cervical sample taken by brush is placed in special liquid. This method makes it easier for scientists to examine the cells and also to provide the result early.
I hope I have answered your question.
If you have any further queries do write to us. I will be happy to answer.
