Should I Be Concerned About Short Fleeting Chest Pain That Occurs Occasionally During Exercise?

default

Question: I have asked about this question before, but was curious for a second opinion. I have short fleeting chest pain in the centre of my chest that occurs occasionally during exercise. Chest Pain is localized and last probably 0.5 seconds to 1 second at most. I exercise frequently with no problem and this pain occurs aprox 1 every 10-15 times I exercise. I've spoken to my PCP who 100% does not think it is my heart. I have also done an exercise stress test with was negative for Heart Disease. I occasionally get heart palpitations (either PVCS or PACS. Wore a holter monitor but did no capture any events) which I had had for the last 7-10 years. I'm 30 years old. Normal BP, Normal Blood Lipids. I exercise at 165BPM no problem, no shortness of breath but then 5-7% of the time I will get a short stabbing pain in the centre of my chest. It is very short. I know angina generally does not present itself this way. I am curious could an occasional PVC/PAC during exertion cause such a symptom? Any other possibilities? I will ask for another stress test but unsure if it will catch anything as the symptoms are so infrequent but concerning. Optional Information: Person's Gender: Male Person's Age: 30

Brief Answer: You are absolutely healthy. Detailed Answer: Hello XXXXX Thanks for writing to HCM You are absolutely healthy and all your investigation reports are normal. You shouldn't worry at all.Occasional PVC/PAC are also called as benign PVC/PAC and it doesn't require any treatment. Most of the cases of palpitation don't require any treatment. If still you have doubt, you can go for repeat stress ECG.It will again confirm your healthy condition. You are only 30 years old and cardiac problem is unlikely with normal investigation reports. ECHO and Thyroid profile can also be done to confirm any cause. Musculoskeletal cause of pain should also be excluded. Get well soon. Hope i have answered your query. Thank you for the reassurance. Stress test was 2 years ago but pain was happening prior to the test which is why we had it done. Any idea what could cause this?
