Question: Hi there,
Im so confused, scared and feel totally alone, difficult when living with a husband and 5 of my 6 kids lol.
Anyway, I'm sure I have sent a message before but I decided I didn't actually have MPD and now over a yr later I'm feeling not too good but not sure why and don't know what to do about it as my gp and nurses at my local doctor surgery don't know anything either.
Apart from being born with a hole in my heart and enlarged kidney I was fairly ok as a kid, had tonsils out at 5 and haemorrhaged and needed over 3 pints blood, then had pneumonia then asthma. I had bad time at home and left at 15 and never went back to cardiology again. Had 3 kids and apart from gynae problems my health was good. Aged about 34 I started feel in very tired and low and was put on antidepressants. Still not well I was given lots of blood tests and other medical tests, was told I had ulcers on the bowel, I had under active thyroid and I was  anaemic, which I had been on and off for many years anyway. Still incredibly tired and bloods not right I was sent to haematology and then was told I had pernicious anaemia. Few yrs ago I was again sent to haematology as my bloods had shown high White cell count, I then had to have a take over then I could get bad and I would need treatment.
That's about all I remember, when I asked my gp, he didn't have a clue and basically told me to look it up on the web.
That was in aug 2010, I'm now feeling awful, my arms and shoulders and ribs all ache, my arms feel as if they have no strength and I struggle to lift a kettle of water, that's been about 6 mths now but getting much worse. In the last 4 - 6 wks I feel sick all the time, feel full, not been able to eat properly, feel full after a few mouthfuls and the other day I threw up after forcing myself with about 5 mouthfuls. I'm also sore on my left but also my right and up into my shoulder. Went to my gp and she had a feel of my tummy and gave my tablets for indigestion but said she would get in touch with an appointment for a scan incase of gallstones. I asked her about MPD but she said she's not sure I have it at all as they hadn't reported what type I have. My bloods for last month came back as stable from haematology but my gp said my White cell count was a bit high (15.2) and made me do a urine test which had protine in it but didn't give me anything, she sent off urine and told me to call in a week. I'm now in bed most of the time, feel exhausted and like an old woman and I'm only 37. So tired and just want to know what the heck is going on and if I actually have MPD after all? Oh the little hole where they took bone marrow has suddenly after 16 mths started to hurt and have a small scab which itches and hurts. Weird.

I found a letter from haematology and it had on it...
Diagnosis Monocytosis (NOS)
Blood count: Hb 151, White count 15.5, platelets 361
Then went on to say counts remain stable and treatment is not required at present. Will test again in 6 mths.
I do remember her saying looking for granulyce or something like that.
My gp doesn't seem to know and feel unnecessary to get an appointment with hospital just to ask some questions as no one seems that bothered, which seems good as it can't be serious but I'm so confused.
