Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking I-pill?

Question: Hi doctor,

I have a question on whether i could be pregnant or not. Me and my partner had sex on the evening of the 6th of December and I had been experiencing cramps on the evening of the 5th which i believe to have been due to ovulation. I am on a 27 day cycle and my last period was on the 23rd November. I am not a sexually active person at all as this was my first time. My partner had a condom on and the vaginal penetration lasted a minute or two without him penetrating all the way (tip only) as I was a virgin at that point and it hurt, so he kept having to stop and resorted mainly to anal sex. Again, this only lasted a few minutes as he had to stop due to pain. Also, he didn't ejaculate inside of me but on my back and i am certain that non of the ejaculate reached the vaginal opening. However, my problem is that he took the condom off half way through to carry out other sexual acts but stupidly put the same one back on. I am worried about the pre-ejaculate as he continued penetrating for about a minute after that. The event ended around 5:20pm and the very next day on the 7th at around 4:30pm, i took the morning after pill prescribed by my GP (within 24 hours). I definitely experienced nausea, headaches, tiredness and some cramps not long after taking the pill. Today is my expected date for my period, 14th day after ovulation. I did a home pregnancy test this morning and it came back negative. Tonight, i am experiencing some brown discharge, backache, headache and some cramps. In your opinion, do you think this is implantation bleeding or the start of my normal period? What are the chances that i am pregnant? Your opinion would be extremely helpful. Thank you!

Brief Answer:
Not pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Your day of coitus was a fertile day but pregnancy is unlikely due to two reasons. Partner used condom and did not ejaculate inside you. Second , you used morning after pill within 72 hours which ends the worries one could have for that slight time frame unprotected coitus. SO no it is not pregnancy.

Now the delay in periods with morning after pills is normal and nothing to worry about. Just hang in there. Periods can vary from 21 days to 35 days of cycle. That brown discharge you have at night is periods. Not implantation bleeding The cramps, nausea and all the abdominal discomforts can be attributed to some genito urinary tract infection and should be clinically correlated with some baseline workup to sort it out.

Nutshell it is not pregnancy. I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and don't forget to close the discussion please.
