Brief Answer:
Be sharp to detect and report any new symptoms!!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

Changing your medication from Temgesic to Codeine would be a welcomed idea if your doctor has valid reasons for doing so. Talk with him and understand what the exact reasons for changing are. This would be the motivational factors that would keep you accepting and following through with this change.

If he has valid reasons, then I am sure you should be happy because this would be for your good. My singular concern would be withdrawal symptoms if this drug is suddenly stopped. I hope your doctor is slowly tapering you off so as to avoid triggering withdrawal symptoms.

My advice to you is to stay vigilant, identify any new symptom(s) and report promptly to your doctor. Feeling agitated, anxious, nervous or shaky, or having difficulty sleeping, may occur after you stop using the medicine. This is rare, but tell your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms after stopping this medicine. If they occur, these effects usually disappear within a few days.

IN all, be very observant and report any changes to your doctor. Otherwise, there are no other concerns getting off this drug beyond withdrawal symptoms.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
