Brief Answer:
Should give her proper meals

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for your query.

Yes watermelon and all other food items can be given to children unless they are allergic to any food.

If she has fever or infection then she may not eat adequate food. In such a case please give her high calorie foods like cheese, butter, ghee, sweets, etc. Till her illness is over give her anything that she may like. If throat infection etc, then softer foods are more accepted like idli, pancake, cakes, pastries, muffins, cookies, cereals like cornflakes etc.

If she has no illness, then please give her proper food that is similar to adult food in your home. 3 proper meals and 3 - 4 snacks are needed in a day. Though fruit is readily accepted by children, it should not replace meals.

If she rejects a food, please dont be disheartened and try the food again after a week.

Hope it helps.

If you still have any doubt please let me know.
