Brief Answer: EXPLAINED BELOW Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for writing to us with your health concern. External haemorrhoids would be visible directly.' Internal haemorrhoids will require inspection by a doctor via proctoscopy. However, both kinds of these haemorrhoids are symptomatic - she would be having some kind of rectal bleeding, particularly with bowel movements. Is she having any constipation or bleeding during bowel movements ? The pain and dryness and itching is common for upto 6 weeks, as the stitches get healed. So do not worry too much. Continue to use Soframycin and Fisgen ointment. Ask her to have hot Sitz bath atleast 3 - 4 times a day. Soak in a tubful of warm water. Do not use excessive soaps, gel, cleansers or douches to clean the area, just clean with warm water and XXXXXXX dry gently. Also consult your obstetrician. Have a local perineal examination - and also internal check up per vaginum and per speculum. Also, per rectal examination and proctoscopy is a must to rule out any anal or rectal cause. Sometimes, the local perineal stitches have tightened, and then they can cause pain and pressure on the rectal area. Avoid constipation, drink lots of liquids, and avoid excessive squatting right now ( use a western style toilet ). She should be fine in a few days. All the best. Please feel free to discuss further.

Thank you for ack dr. She does not have bleeding or constipation. Only pain in rectum , could be internal hemorrhoids. It is her 9th week post delivery. she has not tried sitz bath yet. We will get the bath treatment done for 3 - 4 days . if it still remains we will get the examination done.

Brief Answer: AS BELOW Detailed Answer: Hello again. Thank you for the appreciation. While taking Sitz bath, ask her to avoid squatting excessively. Try and sit in the bath with both legs extended out straight in front of her. Taking a hot water bottle to bed and applying it on the rectal area while sitting or sleeping also will help ( hot fomentation ). All the best to you. Take care.
