Brief Answer:
Not pregnant. Be stress free. Wait 2-5 days.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

Thanks for writing to us. Followings are my comments:

1) Both blood test and home pregnancy test are NEGATIVE. It confirms that you are NOT pregnant. Blood test for beta-hCG reveals pregnancy as early as 8 -10 days after ovulation or fertilization.

2) Some underlying causes of late period are hormonal imbalance, mental stress (most common), Poly Cystic Ovary, pelvic infection, anemia, irregular diet etc.

Relevant investigations are required to carry out after clinical evaluation. These include pelvic ultrasound scan, serum prolactin level & Hb%, complete hormone test - LH/ FSH, thyroid profile, progesterone etc.

3) After taking MEPRATE, most women get their period or withdrawal bleeding within 1-2 weeks. You should try to avoid mental stress or anxiety. It has great impact on late period.

I suggest you to await another 2-5 days to get period naturally. If you don't get it by this time, you should consult with local gynecologist for evaluation through above mentioned investigations.

You may require combined hormonal pill to induce and regularize monthly cycle. Take balanced diet with IRON supplements, control body weight and need sound sleep.

Hope, I have answered your query. Wish your good health and take care.

Brief Answer:
No problem.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,

Thanks for your update.

Light flow is not a big problem. It may be due to hormonal imbalance and excessive mental stress. Be stress free and take healthy diet. It will be normal in next cycles.

Hope, it helps for your information. Practice safe sex in future. Good luck.

Can this be confused with implantation bleeding, how can it be made sure it is period
doctor
Answered by Dr. Dr. Soumen Patra (27 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Not implantation bleeding.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,

Thanks for your query.

Implantation occurs 7-9 days after ovulation (around D21 to D23 of regular cycle) or 3rd to 4th week of cycle.

You are currently on 6th week from last period date. Another thing, both blood and home pregnancy tests are NEGATIVE. Therefore, it can't be implantation bleeding. It is withdrawal bleeding like period due to effect of the medicine.

Hope, it helps to clear your doubt. Good luck and take care.

Brief Answer:
Mostly effect of Meprate. Do one TVS scan for confirmation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,

Thanks for posting your query.

1) Above features are mostly suggestive of effect of Meprate (if you have taken it recently) as a result of hormonal imbalance. Some other causes could be presence of uterine cyst, thyroid disorder, uterine or cervical polyp, endometriosis etc.

2) I can suggest you to undergo one Trans Vaginal Ultrasound scan (TVS) to rule out underlying pathology and confirm the diagnosis. Do one thyroid profile also. Review with test results for next management.

Hope, it helps for your information. Maintain genital hygiene properly.
